The Bulgarian Monasteries collections are made by the Bulgarian Mint of the Bulgarian National Bank with the blessing of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
The obverse of each of the medals illustrates an image of one of the most popular and beautiful bulgarian monasteries while the reverse of the medals represents an author’s replica of the miraculous icon of the monastery.
The author of the project is a sculpture of the Bulgarian Mint of the Bulgarian National Bank – Plamen Chernev.
They are executed in matt quality with a deep relief of the plastic images.
Each of the silver and copper collections includes seven monasteries:
Glozhene Monastery with the miraculous icon of St. George;
Rozhen Monastery with the miraculous icon of St. Mary;
Bachkovo Monastery with the miraculous icon of St. Mary;
Troyan Monastery with the miraculous icon of St. Mary;
Rila Monastery with the icon of St. Ivan Rilski the Wonderworker;
Dryanovo Monastery with the icon of St. Archangel Michael;
Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour with an author’s replica of the scene “The Wheel of Life” by Zahari Zograf.
The certificate of origin and authenticity of the product is certified by the signature of the CEO of the Bulgarian Mint of the Bulgarian National Bank.
Each of the collections has a unique number from 0001 to 1000, placed on the certificate and the wooden box.
